Vitaliy "Bitsukha" Trukhan is a fan of the football club "Desna" (Chernihiv) and a representative of the team "Boys of the Northern Capital".
Vitaliy Hennadiiovych Trukhan was born on September 8, 1994, in Chernihiv. He studied at the 15th Lyceum and School № 35 in his native city. Starting to actively support Chernihiv "Desna", he became part of the team "Boys of the Northern Capital". In the days before the Maidan (between 2012-14), when the domestic around-football movement was at its peak, "NC Boys" gained fame as trouble-free fighters, able to take on any opponent without hesitation and willing to compete with anyone. At the same time, representatives of the team defended nationalist principles on the streets of their native Chernihiv (and not only). Vitaliy was one of those who fought in the concrete jungle for Ukrainian Ukraine at the time when national consciousness was not at the highest level among the population. Vitaliy chose to defend our country from invaders at the very beginning of the war. In 2014, before one of the evening checks in the barracks, he packed his things in a flour sack and went to the ATO zone. He was a 19-year-old student at Kharkiv National University of Civil Defense at the time. Vitaliy never returned to his studies - he decided to go fighting for Ukraine. For the next eight years, "Bitsukha" fought for the integrity and sovereignty of our Motherland. Some time later, Vitaliy took a sergeant course. He trained and educated thousands of recruits. He was a legend because everyone in the regiment knew who "Bitsukha" was. He was and still is an example of an experienced and disciplined warrior. His name remains in the history of the regiment. Vitaliy's wife, Maryna, recalls: "He was always grateful to the regiment, as he had learned everything and gained his experience there, developed his skills and was always very ambitious. He joined the regiment in 2015. It took him 7 years to reach the rank of Sergeant Major, and I am sure he would not have stopped there."
The Chief Sergeant of the Colonel Yevhen Konovalets military school met the full-scale Russian invasion in Mariupol. On the first day of the great war his wife received a message from him: "Now it is not the time to be weak, we need to pull ourselves together. Now we must show that we cannot be defeated. That the whole country is relying on us". They were in touch almost every day. They wrote messages to each other, Vitaliy sent photos to his wife, and whenever there was an opportunity, he contacted her. Before the blockade of Mariupol, he sent a message: "This will never happen, I will definitely return, I cannot die". "Bitsukha" was killed in battle on March 12.
His wife and two sons, Matviy and Henadiy, were left without their father, the fallen defender of Ukraine. In the memory of his friends, he will remain an open, sincere warrior who fought for the independence of his country. For personal courage and selfless actions, displayed in the protection of state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, loyalty to the military oath, and exemplary performance of his official duty, the President of Ukraine awarded Chief Sergeant Vitalii Trukhan with the Medal "For Courage", III degree (posthumously).
It was a hard battle for Mariupol. The enemy lost 12 units of equipment and many russian troops were killed. It was not his first battle, but unfortunately, the last one.
That is how his friend Oleksandr Tarnavskyi will be recalling him later.
