Valery "Aladin" Gynda is a fan of the "Niva" football club (Ternopil).
Valery Vasyliovych Gynda was born on November 9, 1997 in Pskov, and when he was 4 months old, the family returned to Ternopil. He studied at city Lyceum No. 6, later continuing his studies at the West Ukrainian National University, at the Faculty of Economics and Management. From the 5th grade, he began to engage in Greco-Roman wrestling, reaching the rank of KMS. Later, he became interested in mixed martial arts, and could lose himself in gyms for whole days. Another childhood hobby was collecting car models.
He joined the fan club of Ternopil "Niva" at the age of 15. Actively supported the team, trying not to miss away matches, many of which were considered distant matches. Together with friends, they got to the desired city without tickets. Valery was the soul of the company and easily made new friends. A deputy, a businessman, a janitor, an official, or even a homeless person - he knew how to find a common language with everyone. Teammates remember that during his stay in the sector, Valery led an exceptionally healthy lifestyle and promoted sports and freedom from bad habits.
Worked in bar security and at the annual "Fine City" music festival. In addition to his main work, Valery actively supported public initiatives, volunteered a lot. Since 2014, he has been collecting food and medicine for the military, weaving camouflage nets. When he worked at a factory in the Czech Republic, he stayed after his shift to help make plates for body armor, which were then sent to Ukraine.
And he loved animals very much, he always had food for homeless tails in the car. A childhood passion for collecting car models has turned into a real lifelong passion - high-speed driving. He was well versed in the technical part and could repair almost any car model. According to the memories of his relatives, he knew a lot, had many interests and was an interesting conversationalist.
At the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion, he lived and worked abroad, but refused to stay there and began to prepare for war. The Military Commissariat refused Valery mobilization, so he submitted questionnaires to various volunteer units, in particular to "Azov", where his friend was serving at the time. Physical training was not enough to pass the selection, but he did not give up and continued to search further. From September 2022, he joined the ranks of the "Honor" unit as part of the 1st separate mechanized battalion "Da Vinci Wolves" of the 67th separate mechanized brigade, which he was very proud of. He quickly mastered the skills of handling weapons, becoming a serious specialist in the field of machine guns, although he had not completed military service before that.
Together with his comrades, "Aladin" performed difficult tasks on the front lines in the Donetsk region. In March 2023, he was one of those who held the last road to Bakhmut in front of overwhelming enemy forces. Relatives recall that it was a matter of honor for him. Valeriy Gynda fell on March 23, 2023 while performing a combat mission in the vicinity of the village of Khromov (Donetsk region). At the cost of his own life, he saved other soldiers by accepting the blow.
In the memory of relatives and brothers, "Aladdin" will forever remain a faithful friend and a true patriot of Ukraine, who above all wanted to liberate his native land and change many things for the better. He is buried on the Alley of Heroes of the Mykulinetskyi cemetery in the city of Ternopil. On April 28, 2023, he was awarded the "Honorary Citizen of Ternopil" award (posthumously).
