Valentin "Abu" Demyanenko is a fan of the football club "Dynamo" (Kyiv), a representative of the "White Boys Club" movement.
Valentin Oleksandrovych Demyanenko was born on February 2, 2001 in the city of Kyiv. He studied at school No. 185 until the 8th grade, after which he studied economics at the Kyiv Technical Lyceum and the Kyiv-Mohyla Academy National University. Folk dances were the greatest childhood hobbies. He performed a lot with his group, went to various competitions. Over time, dancing was replaced by the gym, as well as boxing and wrestling, which he practiced in the "Cossack House". Later, he practiced MMA in the "KRBK" club.
The fan sector of Kyiv "Dynamo" began to visit in 2015. Valentin really wanted to go on his first trip by bus, as his older friends from the movement did. The father recalls that at that time his son was less than 16 years old, and he offered to go together. So for his first away match against Odesa "Chornomorets", Valentin went with his dad, for whom it was also the first such train. Both of them received unforgettable emotions and impressions from the atmosphere of the trip.
Subsequently, Valentin plunged into the fan movement and already attended outings with friends. He was attracted by the surrounding football movement, he succeeded a lot in training. One of the friends recalls: - "Abu" liked to move around. His eyes lit up when we all gathered for training and had a good time, getting new knowledge. More often he liked to fight, he was good at it. He was always smiling and with a cola, for who always went to see Mack after training at the "Cossack House". Few people in our circle saw him sad. He was a cheerful guy who loved life."
Having started doing mixed martial arts, Valentin was very proud of the fact that he works out with the boys in the "KRBK" hall of Pavel, who is known to a large number of fans in the capital.
In parallel with his studies and sports hobbies, Valentin worked at various jobs, including as a lifeguard and a baker. According to the recollections of his relatives, he felt at home while working as a rescuer. There were many stories when someone was drowning in the Dnieper, and Valentin pumped these people out. Sometimes it was very difficult, because not everyone is capable of working in such a job.
Here is just one of the memories of his close friend about working in the "Beach Patrol": - "Valentin came there in 2020, having shown the best result in physical training at the selection. He was interested in medicine, in particular cardiopulmonary resuscitation. One summer day, after at the end of the shift, he had already gathered and was waiting for the guys to go home. At that time, it was broadcast on the radio that a person had been pulled out of the water and it was necessary to perform CPR. Valentin immediately ran to the aid of the guys with a defibrillator and started working. He often dived in search of people even in dark hours of the day, sometimes in forbidden places. He was willing to take risks if there was the slightest chance of saving someone's life."
Work as a baker was also not just a place of income for him. He treated bread as something more. He collected photos of products and was proud of his work.
In June 2022, he was supposed to receive a university diploma majoring in management, but in February he took an academic leave of absence from his studies in order to defend his native land. Even before the full-scale war, having completed courses in tactical medicine at GO Centuria, like many football fans, "Abu" joined the ranks of the capital's unit, on the basis of which the 3rd OShBr was later formed. The combat medic of the reconnaissance platoon of the 2nd mechanized battalion bravely performed the assigned tasks and saved the lives of his wounded comrades.
Valentin was very fond of medicine, constantly improving his skills. His beloved recalls that while talking to her on the phone, other fighters often came up to him and asked to check their first-aid kits. Everyone knew that he would always carefully check everything and would not refuse anyone. Valeriya tells how once, during a walk in Kyiv, she badly injured her leg. Valentyn, and here I behaved like a professional doctor. After asking his beloved to wait a little, he returned from the pharmacy with a full set of medicines, treated the wound and applied a bandage. He was very responsible for the smallest injuries.
During the full-scale war, he told loved ones many stories, but never showed his fear of trials. Even when his unit went to the Donetsk region, Valentin always talked about his adventures during the day with a smile. He recorded a video message from the corridor to his beloved, and when asked why he was standing there, he answered: "But we have birds flying here, it's a little loud, but everything is fine, everything is fun." Then there was an understanding that he really felt good with his brothers.
But friends knew that "Abu" was repeatedly in difficult situations. As with his work as a rescuer before the full-scale invasion, he also had to take risks in the war, often coming under enemy fire. But he always treated everything calmly and continued to work. Valentyn Demyanenko died on January 23, 2023 as a result of enemy shelling near the city of Bakhmut (Donetsk region). Buried in the village of Kotsyubynske near Kyiv.
- "The hellish war continues to take the lives of the best sons of Ukraine. A "Dynamo" fan, a brave warrior and a loyal friend who could always come to the rescue" - this is how friends from the fan sector remember their teammate.
