Serhiy "Ambros" - a fan of "Dnipro" football club (Cherkasy) and a representative of "Cherkasy Supporters" team.

Serhiy Ambros was born on May 16, 1990, in Cherkasy in a family of engineers. He studied in the math class in gymnasium number 31 and finished it in 2007 with a gold medal. He received his higher education at the Faculty of Civil Engineering of Cherkasy State Technical University, specializing in Industrial and Civil Engineering. From a young age, he was interested in sports and the patriotic life of his native city. He studied its history. He was kind and sincere, always tried not to offend anyone, and always fought for justice.

Supporting Cherkasy "Dnipro" Serhiy joined the ultras movement of his club. He was considered one of the leaders and was always the first in both training and away games. Ambros combined the support of his favorite club both at the stadium and outside it with public initiatives. He actively promoted a healthy lifestyle and the prohibition of alcohol distribution. He had always been at the center of the social life of his city and was one of the founders of the initiative group "Zdravie", aimed at educational activities for young people.

Among his peers, Serhiy was distinguished by special integrity of views, he spoke only Ukrainian. "For him, Ukraine, state, native language, customs, and traditions were more than just words. Sometimes we were surprised: we are an ordinary Cherkasy family, just engineers, and he had such strength of conviction - he was a true Ukrainian! He was born such a man by the will of God," - Serhiy's mother Tetiana Ambros recalls. Like most active fans of the pre-war period, he was engaged in martial arts. He loved tourism and travelled a lot besides football trips, and most of all he loved the west of Ukraine and Crimea. After the "Berkut" beat students on the Maidan, "Ambros" and his comrades went to Kyiv where they got involved in fierce confrontations, at the same time organizing an intensive protest movement in Cherkasy. With the beginning of the war in Donbas, he immediately joined the ranks of the "Azov" battalion in May, along with a group of volunteers from Cherkasy. He proved to be a courageous and prudent warrior who did not succumb to fear. He came through the fire of offensive operations in Maryinka and Ilovaisk.  He rose quickly from a soldier to a lieutenant. His comrades-in-arms remember Ambros as an original, visionary, thoughtful, and active guy. Serhiy once said giving an interview to one of the TV channels: "I believe that those who feel an inner urge to fight should go to war. After all, some people have to work, help us in the cities, and keep an eye on the new government, because we can not do that. So let them stay and benefit the nation in another way."

Serhiy Ambros died on February 18, 2015. While performing a task in the village of Shyrokyne, Serhiy's unit came under continuous artillery and mortar fire from separatists. During the battle, the warrior received wounds that were incompatible with life. On the same day, he died in a hospital in Mariupol.

As "Ambros's" comrades later recalled, his death was shrouded in mythologems. It was associated with the lifelong hobbies of the deceased. Thus, the writer Vasyl Shklyar later said: "He was fond of falcons. He had a tattoo of a falcon, he studied everything about them and used to say: "When I die, I will become a falcon"... And now the doctors are doing surgery on him, the guys are sitting at the base, and suddenly a falcon flies and sits on the railings... They had never seen a bird at the base, and then the phone rings, Ambros died... He is being buried in Cherkasy, on the square, and the falcon is circling over the procession... Guys come to clean his grave - there is a falcon on the cross... I do not even dare to write a work of art about it - they will say that I am embellishing it again. But life provides such things that are beyond imagination...".

On February 23, 2015, the football championship match of Cherkasy region "Dnipro" (Cherkasy) - FC "Zvenyhorodka" was dedicated to the memory of Serhii Ambros. In October of the same year, a memorial plaque was installed on the facade of the school where he studied. On the premises of the former tobacco factory at 170 Blagovisna Street, a youth hub named after Serhiy Ambros (Ambros HUB) and a social sports hall (AmbrosCrossFight) were arranged. The training is free for combatants and their families.

In September 2015, in "Dakhnivska Sich" Cossack fortress near Cherkasy, the first All-Ukrainian charity festival "Insurgent" was held, in which an MMA 5x5 tournament in memory of Serhiy Ambros was held. This honoring of the fallen Defender of Ukraine is worth being mentioned separately because for several years in a row representatives of domestic fan groups have been taking part in the competition.

According to the Decree of the President of Ukraine № 324/2015 of June 10, 2015, "for personal courage and high professionalism shown in the protection of state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, loyalty to the military oath", he was awarded the Medal "For Courage" of the III degree (posthumously).

He was a warrior and died as a warrior. This is a huge loss for all of us.
