Roman "Skittles" Gorkova is a fan of the "Metalurg" football club (Zaporizhia), a representative of the "Cossack Youth" team.

Roman Artemovich Gorkovoy was born on June 3, 2001 in the city of Zaporizhzhia. Studied at the Zaporizhia Academic Lyceum. From an early age, he was a patriot and worried about the future of the country.

He was a member of the public association "C14", which aims to protect the national interests of Ukrainians and fights against pro-Russian separatist structures. He was fond of sports and together with like-minded people from "Sichi" promoted a healthy lifestyle. He took care of the ecosystem of his hometown, took part in activities to clean up Fr. Khortytsia from garbage.

Roman attended his first football match at the age of 5, on July 29, 2006 at the opening of the Slavutych Arena. He started supporting Metalurg in the fan sector in 2018. Tried not to miss the team's home matches, sometimes even running away with friends from the last couple. In the same year, he attended his first away matches in such cities as Kryvyi Rih, Kremenchuk and Nikopol.

At the end of 2019, he was hired under a contract. He served in the 73rd Maritime Center of the SSO as a "flame-thrower operator" of the 2nd detachment of military unit A3199 with the call sign "Bledniy". Already during his service, he graduated from the Zaporizhzhia Electrical Engineering College of the National University "Zaporizhia Polytechnic", majoring in "Economics".

Relatives remember that Roman knew how to make friends and truly valued friendship. Once he covered 16 km from his location to Fedotova spit, swimming across the bay in Kyrylivka to meet a friend. Roman Gorkovoy died while performing a combat mission on May 27, 2022 in the village of Velike Artakove (Mykolaiv Oblast), having received numerous bullet and shrapnel wounds.

Already after the death of Roman, his mother found her son's note in the student notes: - "My first breath is for you, Ukraine, and my last breath is for you", and fellow marines brought Gerda, a shepherd dog injured by shrapnel, whom he cared for and wanted to take home, but so and didn't have time...
