Roman "Romeo" Tverdohlib is a fan of the football club "Vorskla" (Poltava), a representative of the "Poltava pride" team.
Roman Serhiyevich Tverdokhlib was born on February 7, 1988 in the city of Poltava. He studied at school No. 25, after which he continued his studies at PTU No. 23. From the 9th grade of school, he began his sports journey, attended the Thai boxing section, and in 2009, together with his friends, began to engage in mixed martial arts under the guidance of coach Aziz. In 2011, he began practicing Brazilian jiu-jitsu professionally under the guidance of Bohdan Viktorovych Furman.
During this period, he took part in a large number of all-Ukrainian free-fight and jiu-jitsu competitions. He was a multiple champion of the Poltava and Kharkiv regions, as well as a prize-winner of all-Ukrainian competitions. In 2013, he had the title of "Candidate for Master of Sports of Ukraine" in traditional jiu-jitsu and a blue belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu.
Roman's fan journey began in 2008, when he joined the newly created team "Crew of Golden Eagle". He supported the team in the home and away sectors, but a little later he wanted more adrenaline. And already in 2009, he joined the hooligan firm "Alliance". Having shown himself from the best side in fan fights, Roman and his friends created a new collective "Poltava pride", which continued to be part of "C.O.G.E.".
Then there were many good fights, one of which is especially remembered by Roman's teammates. On that day, "Poltava pride" fought against Sumy. Roman personally defeated three opponents, and the Poltava team almost finished the fight in their favor, until then Kharkiv fans came to the place and set up a pre-planned ambush. Despite the superior forces of his opponents, Roman proudly accepted the challenge and fought to the end. Despite the injuries suffered by Poltava fans, which are quite severe for such events, in two weeks Roman once again stood for his city, friends and team.
In 2013, Roman was invited to work at the new SpartakGym fitness club, and it was from that moment that his coaching activities began. He began training in crossfit and mixed martial arts. He persistently developed crossfit in his hometown and became one of the best coaches in Poltava.
At the end of 2013, revolutionary events took place in the country. Roman, together with friends from the fan movement, took part in the formation of the "Right Sector" cell in the eastern region, which included 4 regions. After the start of the war in the East, he realized that this war would never end. He prepared, went to shooting ranges and practiced the tactics of fighting in small groups.
On the first day of the full-scale war, Roman, together with his brother, came to the Military Commissariat. He was resolute in his desire to protect the country. Having been diagnosed with epilepsy since his school years, he made up a story so that he would still be drafted into the army. He underwent a repeat examination, which did not reveal the disease. First, he was hired as a rifleman-assistant grenade launcher of the 2nd branch of the 3rd platoon of the guard company. In June, he was transferred to the combined assault company "Odin".
On April 16, 2023, Roman Tverdokhlib performed a combat mission in the Yampol region of Donetsk region. The life of a 35-year-old defender was cut short by a shot from an enemy sniper. He was buried at the Central Cemetery of his hometown.
- "We called you Roma Nytik then. I don't even remember why. We met at events, at a fan tournament, we had mutual acquaintances, in general - we were our own. Seeing you in our unit was the norm. I remember , as we talked about life for two hours. It seemed that there was always time on the walkie-talkie: "Sniper... for you, friend". - one of his friends from the fan movement remembers Roman.
