Oleksiy "Obolon" Hornytskyi is a fan of the CSKA (Kyiv) football club, a representative of the "Old Castle" team.
Oleksiy Yuriyovych Hornytskyi was born on March 5, 1999 in the city of Kyiv. He graduated from school No. 240 in his native city, after which he entered the Kyiv Transport and Economic Vocational College, majoring in auto mechanics. From an early age, he started playing sports, in particular boxing. Participated in MMA competitions. Later, his passion for boxing will grow into the main sport of his life, and already in 2019, Oleksiy will start training for Azov youth.
After completing his military service in 2020-21, he continued his education at the Faculty of Law of the MAUP Academy. He worked and dreamed of a happy future. He was interested in cars. Relatives and friends remember Oleksiy as a sociable person with a good sense of humor. He lived and enjoyed life. He was always cheerful and knew how to make others smile.
He got to know CSKA fans while coaching several of them at Kozatskyi. A closer acquaintance took place already at the boxing tournament in Buch. The "Old Castle" team invited Oleksiy to his place, and soon he was supposed to go to his first fight. But the beginning of the great war made its adjustments. Instead of the expected opportunity to prove themselves in football-related adventures, the boys went to defend the country. During the battles in the Mykolayiv region, he was with his teammates from the "Kyiv Rus" battalion. According to their memories, Oleksiy showed himself as a loyal friend and brother. Despite the fact that he was in the fan movement recently, he was ready to do anything to help his other members in these difficult times.
After the start of the full-scale war, "Obolon" defended the country as part of the 2nd reconnaissance department of the reconnaissance platoon of the 63rd separate mechanized brigade. He took part in the liberation of Mykolaiv Oblast and Kherson Oblast. Constant and exhausting battles did not frighten him, on the contrary, he rushed into battle. Simple and cheerful, he always came to the aid of his brothers. During the repulse of an attack on one of the settlements of the Mykolaiv region, he pulled out and evacuated many of his comrades from under fire.
On December 25, 2022, fierce battles continued with the occupiers for Bakhmut. While performing a combat mission, scout Oleksiy Hornytskyi received a shrapnel wound from an enemy mine explosion. He was evacuated to a hospital in the city of Dnipro. Unfortunately, the injuries turned out to be incompatible with life, the defender died on December 28. Buried at the Lisove Cemetery in Kyiv.
