Nazar "Zarik" Savitsky is a fan of the football club "Metalurg" (Donetsk).
Nazar Oleksiyovych Savytskyi was born on September 8, 1998 in the town of Myrnograd, Donetsk region, in a family of workers. In 2005, he entered the first grade of a local secondary school. In the same year, his parents divorced and the boy moved with his mother and little sister to the city of Selidove, where he studied and graduated from school No. 6 in 2016.
From a young age, he was fond of sports, particularly martial arts. He practiced kosiki karate from elementary school until 2014, has a green belt, and in 2013 won 1st place at the championship of Ukraine. In addition to sports, he had a number of hobbies, including parkour, graffiti, numismatics, and taking photos with old film cameras.
Having started to support Donetsk "Metalurg" since his school years, he watched the team's matches in the Ukrainian Football League. A year after the Russian invasion of eastern Ukraine, the club ceased to exist.
Since the Russian occupation of Donetsk and Luhansk regions, Nazar strongly condemned the invaders. Relatives recall that at times it was very difficult for them to restrain the boy who wanted to leave everything and join volunteer formations for the defense of the Motherland. In 2020, he earned a bachelor's degree in the "Management of Foreign Economic Activities" educational program at the Zaporizhia National University. In the same year, he signed a contract with the 81st separate air mobile brigade, which is part of the Ukrainian Air Force.
Worked as a grenade launcher. In 2020-21, a member of the OOS in the Donetsk region. He received thanks from the command for diligence, reasonable initiative and conscientious performance of official duties. In 2021, in the rank of senior soldier, he was awarded the "For Exemplary Service" badge. He read a lot, and according to the memories of his relatives, Nazar's favorite books were Sun Tzu's treatise "The Art of War", as well as the Ukrainian military poetry "Stiletto and Stylos".
Nazar met the beginning of a full-scale invasion in Zhytomyr, where he took a leadership course, but due to the beginning of the great war, he never received a rank. After that, he spent another 10 days in the training center, as an instructor with combat experience, he taught mobilized defenders. For some time he defended his native land in the Zaporozhye direction, and from June 2022, he and his brothers were relocated to the Lysychansk district.
According to the recollections of relatives, "Zarik" always believed in the victory of Ukraine over Muscovites, even in the most difficult moments. On July 13, 2022, Nazar Savytskyi died, having received non-life-threatening injuries as a result of shelling from an RSV, while performing a combat mission near the military base.
