Artem "Medya" Medvedev is a fan of "Vorskla" football club (Poltava).
Artem Oleksiyovych Medvedev was born on August 8, 1991 in the city of Poltava. He graduated from secondary school No. 9, and from 2008 to 2013 he studied at the history faculty of the Poltava National Pedagogical University named after V. G. Korolenko. He was fond of football since childhood, and already at the age of 15 he joined the "Vorskla" fan movement. He actively supported the team at home and away matches, witnessing the flourishing years of Ukrainian regional football.
Before the start of the full-scale Russian invasion, Artem worked for some time in the capital, where part of his family also lived. But he met the beginning of the great war in his hometown. Despite the lack of military service, weapons skills and a clear plan, "Copper" had a great desire to help the army. There was no immediate danger for Poltava, which was far from the front, so it was decided to move to Kyiv, on the outskirts of which fierce battles were already taking place.
Arriving in the capital, the brave Poltava citizen joined the local TrO and for some time served in volunteer formations. After the liberation of Kyiv Oblast, Artem and his comrades began to actively prepare for transfer to more dangerous areas of the front. He felt that he could not sit back and waste time. Only in the summer did he enroll in the Armed Forces, but that was not the main thing, because he did not go for money. First of all, I wanted to do useful things and bring the victory of Ukraine closer.
He took the call sign "Hess" in the army. Having joined the "Stugna" battalion, he was assigned to Mykolaiv Oblast. From time to time he contacted his relatives, but did not tell any details, trying to calm them down in this way. He also did not tell that he was a grenade launcher in one of the hottest areas of the Southern Front. Being a loyal fan of "Vorskla", he tried to follow the life of the club even while in the positions. Not being able to watch the matches, he called his brother during breaks and after the matches to find out the score and details of the game.
Artem Medvedev died in battle on August 18, 2022, near the village of Maksimivka, on the border of the Mykolaiv and Kherson regions. The bitter news came the next day, but there was no official confirmation. Therefore, he was considered missing for another three months. Only after the counteroffensive of the Ukrainian army in the Kherson direction, the death of the brave Warrior was confirmed. Since the war, Artem has not seen his daughter, brother, father and mother. Artem was buried on November 18, 2022, on Alley of Heroes in his native Poltava.
