Andrii "Sheriff" Kozachenko is a fan of the football club "Desna" (Chernihiv), a representative of the team "North Вlock".
Andrii Yevheniiovych Kozachenko was born on June 19, 1985. He graduated from Chernihiv National Technological University. He had a cheerful and sociable nature. He participated in KVN festivals and always tried to be in the spotlight.
Being an active fan of FC "Desna" he traveled almost the whole country for the team. "Sheriff" became an active participant in the events of the Revolution of Dignity. He went to the capital's Maidan at the beginning of clashes with security forces. Like other football fans, he confronted "Berkut" on the streets of Kyiv, and later wanted to go to the East of Ukraine to defend the country, but his parents persuaded him not to go.
With the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion, "Sheriff" defended his hometown. Before that, he had not served in the army and friends suggested to Andrii that he could be useful in volunteering since he had a car. But he was adamant in his decision to take up arms. He could not sit at home so he joined the 166th Territorial Defense Battalion.
It was on February 27, and the next day, during the shelling of Chernihiv's ZAZ district, Andrii Kozachenko received a shrapnel wound that was incompatible with life. Doctors of the regional hospital were fighting for his life, but could not do anything. On March 1, the 37-year-old defender died.
The ardent fan of "Desna" will no longer be able to see the performance of his team, and will not visit the fan sector. However, it may be that the next football matches will be held at the stadium named after him. After the restoration of the city stadium in Chernihiv destroyed by the russians, it is planned to be renamed in honor of Andrii Kozachenko. It will definitely happen. The team that Andrii supported all his life at home and away will play on the field of the stadium named after a true patriot of Ukraine and his native city.
